Hold her with light and back away
Survive Miss Delight by keeping your flashlight trained on her and backing away slowly; use a Road Flare to drive her back when you need an opening to escape. Watch your battery throughout the encounter so you can maintain the beam while you retreat.
How Miss Delight finds and approaches you
Miss Delight is a Bigger Body enemy encountered in Playcare School during Early Access. She actively pursues players and can detect sounds through proximity chat, so avoid unnecessary talking when she is close. Listen for her heels as a warning that she is approaching. She is fast and kills with a single touch, making distance more valuable than another loot pickup.
Keep a charged flashlight ready
Batteries recharge your flashlight, but they can also be handed over to Barry. Keep a battery when your light is running low instead of automatically treating it as tribute. Your flashlight drains power whenever it is switched on, so conserve charge in well-lit areas before an encounter.
Give someone responsibility for keeping a charged flashlight ready while teammates handle navigation and support equipment. Agree on those jobs before spreading out to search. Knowing who is prepared to face Miss Delight makes it easier to coordinate a retreat when she appears.
Escape her approach step by step
- Shine your flashlight directly on Miss Delight as she approaches to freeze her in place.
- Back away slowly without lowering the beam, creating distance while the flashlight holds her still.
- Use a Road Flare to drive Miss Delight back and create an opening to retreat.
- Follow a route you have already checked to avoid retreating into a dead end or a gap your Critter cannot pass through.
- Check the Sketch-A-Map once you have breathing room to locate your teammates and Barry before planning your return.
Mistakes that leave you exposed
Turning to run while you are holding Miss Delight with the flashlight takes the beam off her. Keep facing her as you back away instead of making a blind turn. Leave nearby loot alone while you concentrate on controlling her approach and reaching a safer route.
Letting your flashlight run down can leave you without the light needed to stop her approach. Check its charge before committing to more exploration. When deciding what to deposit with Barry, consider whether keeping a battery would help you survive the next encounter.
Relying on a remembered corridor is a risky escape plan because the factory layout changes between runs. A narrow passage is only useful if your character can actually fit through it. Check possible exits while exploring, before you need to retreat through them under pressure.
Leave once the quota is met
Once you are clear, check the remaining shift time before deciding whether to resume searching. If your team has met the quota, the exit hatch opens automatically, so make leaving your priority. Returning from the facility after the shift fully restores your health and flashlight battery.
